It’s HOT out! During the Summer it is very important to make sure we stay hydrated especially while we are working out.
I find myself getting tired midway through my Aerobic class. One second I’m grapevineing then next I’m feeling a little spacey and not getting the combinations! The instructor is telling me to go left and I’m going right. I’ve lost my concentration. (This is not because I’m blonde or my age) I’m dehydrated!
Dehydration usually occurs between 20-25 minutes into your workout. As you are sweating your blood volume continues to decline, your heart has to work harder, and your generating even more internal heat. The result is a progressive deterioration of physical and mental capacity marked by thirst, fatigue, decreased muscle coordination, and mental errors.
When people are thirsty they grab for soda and sport drinks.. Both of these beverages contain lots of sugar and can lead to even more dehydration!
